Walkergate Update: Wink Has More Cooperatin' to Do: ANOTHER Sentencing Postponement

Poor Darlene Wink, Walkergate co-conspirator that, unlike her friend Kelly Rindfleisch, copped a plea deal to lesser charges on the promise to cooperate.  Those following the John Doe investigation into the criminality that underlies Gov. Scott Walker's ascent to power know that Rindfleish would not cooperate at all, causing Milwaukee County Circuit Judge David Hansher to state that her crimes were serious and “she clearly knew what she was doing was illegal and wrong.

So after weeding through the biggest news-dump day of the year -- Wednesday before the 4 day holiday weekend -- this tidbit from Wink's November 21st court appearance stood out:  her sentencing has been postponed for a third time because here deal demands more cooperation in another case.

This should not surprise anyone -- connecting the dots here is easy -- longtime Walker associate Tim Russell has been using a parade of new lawyers to delay and obstruct any disposition of his trial on

Wink's plea deal, while not specifically stating where her cooperation was expected, appears based on an agreement that she testify against Tim Russell whose trail is now scheduled to begin on Dec. 3.  Russell is charged stealing more than $21,000 from the widows and orphans of soldiers killed serving in our military -- about as disgusting a crime as one can imagine.

But Timmy's legal problems are probably not done after that trial -- Russell is a named or unnamed co-conspirator in every other crime charged in relation to Walker's use of his Milwaukee County Executive Office to take his political career to higher levels.  In addition to being over-his-head in the crimes behind Walker's political "stardom", Russell was directly involved in the child pornography and enticement charges his former domestic partner is facing.

The sentencing has been postponed to Jan. 10.

Wink's defense attorney, Peter Wolff, describes his client as "frustrated" that her case is still not resolved, but emphatically states that she will continue to cooperating.

MEMO TO WOLFF AND WINK:  If ya can't do the time, don't do the crime!

Does anyone suppose Wink will enjoy the shoppin' on Black Friday and be full of holiday cheer this year?  VOICES has received unconfirmed reports that Wink, out of the stress related to having sentencing hanging over her head, has canceled plans to join Wal-Mart workers as they strike at the right-wing retail behemoth's on their largest retail-volume day of the year.

Wink and her attorney must be hopin' that snitchin' on Tim Russell is the end of the line for her cooperatin'.  Assistant DA Bruce Landgraf flushed out more rats that Wink may have critical information about or even important collaborating evidence.
