From VOICES "You Can't Make This Crap Up" department, Scott Walker continues to barnstorm out-of-state telling multinational corporate interests the details of his next "divide and conquer" moves here at home in the Badger State. Unbelievably, Walker constantly gets away with proclaiming he has a mandate to implement austerity measures on the masses here at home to subsidize his corporate benefactors yet he intentionally hides his next moves from the public he has a sworn-duty to serve here in Wisconsin.
Walker knows his policies were not approved by voters -- this is why he literally refers to them as "drop[ping] the bomb". How does a stealth politician hide his political agenda and then falsely proclaim the public elected him to enact the radical extremist policies he would not talk about? It takes a lot of propaganda, something his major media sponsors, Journal Communication and Lee Enterprises is more than happy to provide.
The weekend before the November elections, VOICES was told by a high-ranking State Senator's Chief of Communications revealed that the next Walker budget was going to be "devastating". We did not publish this report until the day after the election.
Evidently, the power-lords at Journal Communications have decided it is time to let Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report this to the public. Note how this report is entirely misleading -- those paying attention could have and should have been able to research and report this story weeks ago.
As we pointed out last Friday, it is not surprising that the writer of this story (previous link) has stood down up to now -- despite evidence to the contrary, that writer proclaims the ongoing Scott Walker John Doe probe is "dead as a doornail" -- absolutely not true. And don't expect MJS to say anything about reports of a parallel federal prove either.
Some "ace" investigative reporter, indeed.
But it is not just Journal Communications and Lee Enterprises that misleads and misinforms about Scott Walker -- even though prosecutors have filed revealing sentencing recommendations only last Friday for tomorrow's sentencing of convicted Walker associate Kelly Reindlish, a Gannet paper in the Fox River Valley printed disinformation today that few signs that John Doe probe into Walker aides will net more suspects.
This headline in the story (previous link) misrepresents everything that follows and, like the rest of Walker's media assets, misleads about the purpose of the secrecy surrounding the John Doe probe as somehow being about protecting (actually propping up) the reputation of Scott Walker and if an investigation into the criminality behind his ascent to power has nothing to do with its beneficiary -- Scott Walker.
Wisconsin has seen a massive media failure and this has consequences.
So what did Scott Walker reveal to out-of-state billionaires over the weekend that he and his republican cohorts know better that to repeat at home to Wisconsin voters?
Appropriately, Walker decided to reveal the "the bomb" that he will drop on Badger State residents now that the elections are over at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in California. Reagan began the "trickle down" bamboozle that left most of America high and dry and actually opened a floodgate of capital rushing overseas.
So what is Walker telling his billionaire donors that he is hiding from Wisconsinites? Everything boil down to one thing -- massive tax cuts and subsidize for billionaires and their corporate interests, all paid for austerity imposed on the masses -- a proven recipe for economic disaster: "massive tax reform" consisting of cuts in state income and property taxes.
We do know that Walker will subsidize the Koch brother's railroad empire in the state and this is all about helping his largest donors to obtain cheap and endless supplies of frac sand for their oil and gas drilling/refining empire -- all while playing an accounting shell-game with the transportation costs. Wisconsin and Southern's new owner, WATCO has informed a state assemblyman that 70 percent of their business is with Koch Industries.
Dan Bice's entirely misleading and largely pro-walker piece uncritically presents the same memes that Journal Communication and the nation's right wing echo-chamber have repeated ad nausea all year -- MJS let's Walker get away with proclamations that his policies have grown the Wisconsin economy -- absolutely false.
But don't expect any Journal Communications arm to question the very basis of the pro-Walker boosterism that will inevitably follow. In addition to forcing public schools to operate with increasingly few dollars, Walker is now implying that he will use the same economic "tools" to blackmail public education.
Bice reports very little of what Walker said to group of billionaires at the Reagan library, but does continue to prop up the idea that the only sitting governor in America with a legal defense fund is going to be a major player in the 2016 presidential election. MJS lumps Walker in with heavyweights like Jeb Bush -- not surprising -- as VOICES has reported, Walker is part of the Bush Clan (remember, George W. Bush -- "W" stands for HERBERT WALKER and this DOES MATTER).
Despite the fact that the real results of Walker's austerity policies is economic devastation, over the weekend, MJS is shamelessly reporting that Walker will continue to pay back the billionaires that underwrite his administration for the millions they have invested in him. This could be the official launch of his presidential bid.
If you thought the Romney campaign was dishonest, contentious, and propped up by the mainstream media, just wait until the same media pundits, "experts" and media echo chamber roll out Scott Walker.
