[Updated Regularly] Scott Walker is Wisconsin's Deceiver-in-Chief: It Ain't Polite, But It's Demonstratively True

Perhaps one of the reasons that we see Wisconsin and national politics become so divisive and extreme is because not only do we see hypocrisy and deception become integrated into the standard operating procedures of right-wing "rock stars",  but a massive media failure continually props up the deceptions and, in some cases, flat-out lies.  

Wisconsin's Scott Walker is either ignorant, uninformed, incompetent, or a bold-face-liar.  This isn't an opinion, this is what can be objectively demonstrated.  Periodically, VOICES updates a growing list of disinformation, hypocrisy, or outright lies by Wisconsin's executive -- it doesn't sound polite to call Walker our Deceiver-in-Chief, but it is true.

Scott Walker is Wisconsin's Deceiver-in-Chief; but the bigger problem is a state-wide media echo-chamber that disseminates the disinformation.


What we are experiencing in Wisconsin politics and avoided at a national-level as a results of Obama's historic victory last November, are the consequences that flow from the lie of "objective journalism."

In school, we are taught that what we read in the papers is "fair", because there is some mythical standard for "balance".  What we are increasingly seeing is more "Fox" style "fair and balanced" where, if facts are "inconvenient", they get balanced with lies.

The media has abandoned the most basic tenant of "objective journalism", which is that it's deceptive to "balance" truths with statements that can be shown to be a lies.  When media disconnects itself from striving to present the world-as-it-actually-is, the results are complicit with the lies.  Today's self-proclaimed "journalists" are not practicing anything of the sort.

Disgustingly, this listing of hypocrisy and deception is now more than 300 strong -- please post any stories that you believe belong on this wall-of-shame that we may have overlooked.  It is not easy keeping up with the disinformation Wisconsin's Governor's Office spews.

• Walker Lies Waterways Will Die: More Media Propaganda (January 17, 2013).  While Walker has been stating that the new mining bill would leave environmental standards "intact",  those responsible for resurrecting last-years failed mining bill admit it exempts out-of-state multinational corporate interests from environmental laws and regulations.

• Walker's "Pants On Fire" job' claim, PolitiFact history, rate Journal Sentinel response (December 17, 2012).   Today, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel will no longer publish daily editorials, as that page is redesigned and redefined.  Scott Walker's entire PolitiFact history shows relatively few "true" and "mostly true" ratings - - just 11 out of 59 - - with more than 60% of Walker statements the paper has investigated under the PolitiFact flag carried ratings and findings containing the word "false."

Jim Doyle.  Walker's policies could not have impacted the numbers until much later than January 2011.  In the second half of 2011, when Walker's policies were in effect, he lost well over 30,000 jobs!

He admits the state has not done calculations to determine if his opinions on costs are accurate. (2).  Smith's agency refuses to responded to an open records request for the basis of the Walker administration's projections.

• DNR Closes Meetings, Mocking Walker Open Government Pledge (December 13, 2012).  Enforcement conferences where facts about pollution violations are disclosed have recently been closed as a policy change at the DNR, the agency says. Remember when Scott Walker enunciated during the 2010 campaign his commitment to open government?
• Glitch or Feature?  Walker's "Open for Business" Fail (December 13, 2012).  Scott Walker's "divide and conquer" politics have made Wisconsin among the most contentious, divisive states in America.  Job and economic growth is among the worst in the Nation and pro-business magazine Forbes has just proclaimed that this will be the case through 2016.  Is an economic disaster a "glitch" or a "feature"?
• Gov. Scott Walker Says He Won't Pursue or Reject Right-to-Work (December 13, 2012).  Walker has been talking in circles about this ever since Gov. Snyder in Michigan "dropped the bomb".  So which is it, Walker?  Is this too divisive or are you going to make it Wisconsin law? 
• Forbes: Wisconsin one of the worst states for business  (December 13, 2012).  Here's a snippet of what Forbes' rating is based on:   "Wisconsin’s economy is driven by manufacturing, agriculture and health care. The state is also the nation’s leading producer of cheese. The Badger State adopted the slogan 'Open for Business' in 2011, erecting signs along the state border. The results have been middling at best as job growth is projected to be second worst in the U.S. through 2016."

Walker's jobs goal:  Gov. pledged to help create 250,000 jobs in 4 yrs (December 12, 2012) This factual observation is not included here as proof that Walker's job creation promise was itself a lie -- we've included it on this list because proclamations by the media and Walker that he is achieving his promise are entirely-based on lies.

• Scott Walker: Only 282,148 jobs short of creating 250,000  (June 14, 2012).  I am fortunate enough to be on the E-update list from the Desk of Scott Walker. It’s been illuminating. Good times.Now, grant you, Scott Walker was not recalled; on the other hand, Dems regained control of the Senate chamber.
• Walker's Lies to the governor's mansion (June 11).  So, the aftermath of Scott Walker's win is what? That Wisconsin citizens are just fine with no collective bargaining?
• Walker Did Not Lead in Wisconsin, He Followed ALEC Agenda Right After 2010 Election (Video, June 11, 2012).  After Gov. Scott Walker appeared on CBS's Face the Nation, touting the voters looking for someone who's going to lead and "make touch decisions" as the reason he survived his recall election, the AFL-CIO's Richard Trumka pointed out that what Walker did was not lead.
• Scott Walker Jobbed Us (June 9, 2012).  Shortly before the election, when Scott Walker used the fine folks(and public employees)at the Department of Workforce Development to game the system to pretend that he had actually created jobs in his year and a half as Governor.
• New documents released by DWD prove Scott Walker lied about “early released” jobs numbers (June 8, 2012).  The day after Scott Walker won the recall election, Badger Democracy received two Excel Spreadsheets from the Department of Workforce Development.
• Walker's Not Even Close to Being Out of the Woods (June 7, 2012).  For a fellow who is the son of a minister, Scott Walker sure tells a lot of lies. But don’t take my word for it. PolitiFact, the down-the-middle service that vets statements made by politicians for their veracity, found that of 51 Walker claims investigated, 23 of them were “false” or “pants on fire.”
• Politifact Rates "Walker Mostly False":  "Overwhelming Democrat and Republican votes" (June 6, 2012).  There aren't a lot of things to look forward to in the aftermath of the failed recall of Scott Walker.
• For minister’s son, Walker sure tells a lot of lies  (June 4, 2012)
• Russell lawyer acknowledges releasing documents suggesting Walker administration wasn't cooperating with investigators (June 4, 2012).  A lawyer for Tim Russell acknowledged today that he released documents that resulted in a news story saying Scott Walker's administration had stonewalled the investigation of money stolen from a fund for veterans. 
• Documents prove Walker is lying about not wanting to make Wisconsin a right-to-work (for less) state (June 3, 2012).   Scott Walker doesn’t want the private sector unions to know that he would come after them next with the Orwellian-titled “right-to-work” legislation, which is purely meant to use propaganda and lies about creating jobs while gutting worker rights and even safety of workers. 
• Scott Walker’s Latest Mendacity (June 2, 2012). It’s appalling how easily this Governor lies.  His abuse of facts and the truth is unprecedented in Wisconsin politics.  Not since “Tail Gunner” Joe McCarthy has a Wisconsin politician left such a trail of slime and filth in the name of the people of Wisconsin. 
• PolitiFact: Walker Most Dishonest Governor In United States (June 2, 2012).  I was never a fan of Politifact before and likely won't change my position on them any time soon, but I understand what their appeal is to those seeking extra support and statements to fit whatever their argument is of the moment. That view of Politifact however makes this recent discovery by Uppity Wisconsin even more credible and outstanding.
• Can't trust Scott Walker:  Smear Ad Based on Lie (June 2, 2012).  Scott Walker has a habit of lying and even perjuring himself. So it comes as no surprise that he would misrepresent the words of a criminologist whose words were featured in a Tom Barrett attack ad.
• Walker's Top 3 Myths Busted by Kathleen Vinehout, the BLS, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (June 1, 2012).  There are a lot of Scott Walker lies to choose from, but I have very subjectively selected what I consider his top 3. 
• Scott Walker Doubles Down on John Doe Lie in Debate; Campaign Attacks Prosecutors (June 1, 2012).  Following the breaking news of evidence that Scott Walker obstructed the John Doe corruption probe that has implicated dozens of his top political allies, Walker doubled-down on his self-serving lie that he had cooperated with the probe.
• DWD, Gov. Walker's jobs claims not verified, feds only verified submission of data (June 1, 2012).  he Department of Workforce Development released revised jobs numbers for 2011 a couple weeks ago, and this week claimed they were verified by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.  But that’s not true.  BLS Communications Director Gary Steinberg says what they did verify was the proper submission of the data. 
• Exclusive -- Right To Work (For Less) Documents Surface in Wisconsin  (June 1, 2012).  During Thursday night’s debate, Governor Scott Walker refused to say if he would veto “right to work” legislation when asked by host Mike Gousha. Walker would only say that it wouldn’t hit his desk so he wasn’t worried about it.
• Feds Did Not Confirm Walker's Job Numbers – BLS Clarification (May 31, 2012).  Yesterday, Scott Walker and the Department of Workforce Development attempted to pull the wool over the eyes of Wisconsinites with their claim that the Bureau of Labor Statistics confirmed his fictitious claim of creating jobs in Wisconsin.
• Talgo CEO calls Walker a liar and Walker's Wisconsin bad for business (May 31, 212).  Why would Wisconsin need good jobs for people when Walker's friends come first?
• ICYMI: Watergate Prosecutor Says No One But Scott Walker Stopping E-Mail Release (May 30, 2012).  Leading former prosecutors, including a member of the Watergate prosecution, said Tuesday that the only one stopping Scott Walker's release of emails from a secret computer network system — is Scott Walker himself.
• BREAKING: Scott Walker's Desperate, Illegal Data Release (May 30, 2012).  Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate following the release by the administration of Scott Walker of data in violation of the *Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act of 2002:
• Handy Guide to Walker Lies and Distortions in recent Recall Election Ads (May 28, 2012).  Granted, this could take all day since it’s almost impossible to keep up with the Walker Lying Machine.
• Why Scott Walker Must Go: the Endless Parade of Lies (May 28, 2012).  Scott Walker’s endless parade of lies is just one of many reasons that the Wisconsin governor has got to go.
• Another Absurd Lie: Walker Has "No Memory" of Signing Feingold-Kohl Recall Petitions (May 28, 2012).  In December of 1997, I started working for Russ Feingold's re-election campaign as his Communications and Research Director.  When I started, there weren't a lot of staffers on board yet so I was often the one that went out to observe events of Feingold's likely opponent-- Mark Neumann.
• Governor 'John Doe' denies any involvement. Email trail indicates otherwise (May 27, 2012).  First the Good News for Dems.  It appears most of the people of Wisconsin don't want to give a 'vote of confidence' to Governor Scott Walker, -- at least among who have heard about the "John Doe" investigation, directed at Walker's former executive staff:
• Recall Debate: Walker Doubles Down on Eagle Scout Lie (May 26, 2012).  A video recently went viral of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker telling a billionaire donor in January 2011 that he planned to employ a "divide and conquer" strategy to take away working peoples' rights -- a move that ultimately sparked historic protests and led to the upcoming June 5 recall election that close to one million voters demanded.
• Donations to Scott Walker Flagged as Potential Fraud (May 25, 2012).  When MaryAnn Nellis tried to pay for groceries on April 14, her credit card was declined. Later, she said, she found out why: Her credit card company, Capital One, had flagged an earlier purchase as potentially fraudulent.
• Call Out Milwaukee Journal: Endorses Walker Yet Admits His "Jobs" Stunt is "Mostly False" (May 25, 2012).  From VOICES "You Can't Make This Crap Up" department, today's Milwaukee Urinal Genital Journal Sentinel publishes an analysis of Walker's job claim and clearly concludes they are bogus, though the words they choosepropaganda rag newspaper's editorial board endorses Scott Walker - WTF?!?!?!?!
• BIG Friday News Dump: Walker Gets Nasty-gram from House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.  (May 25, 2012).  John Nichols has posted a must-read for Wisconsin citizens.  Governor and Deceiver-in-Chief Scott Walker is being confronted about statements made under oath in Congress.  Daily Kos (h/t Giles Goat Boy) has a post from a prolific well-respected Wisconsin blogger and those that want to know more may want to follow that thread.  Usually, some pretty thoughtful commenters chime in on Gile Goat Boy's posts.
• Scott Walker: I’ve made good on my promises to taxpayers (May 23, 2012).  Before I took office, Wisconsin was in the midst of a fiscal and economic crisis. In the three years leading up to the 2010 election Wisconsin lost more than 150,000 jobs under the failed policies of former Gov. Jim Doyle and a Democrat-led Legislature.
• Russ Feingold on Walker: "He has a very very bad relationship with the truth."  (May 23, 2012). I’m still sitting here, in stunned amazement, at Walker’s response to his “divide and conquer” comment in the video below:
• Scott Walker: The "Divide and Conquer" Governor.  (May 22, 2012),  A video recently went viral of Wisconsin Gov. • Members of Congress Want to Know: Did Scott Walker Lie Under Oath? (May 22, 2012).  Members of Congress who questioned Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker when he testified before a US House committee last year are asking the chairman of that committee to help them determine whether whether the controversial anti-labor governor made deceptive statements while under oath.
• Rid Wisconsin of pathological liar (May 22, 2012).  Most of us are at the point where we either stand with Scott Walker or we can’t stand Scott Walker. There are a few independents who haven’t decided; political pundits say they could make the difference. I know I’m not going to change minds by what I have to say, but I hope to motivate those who want Walker out of office to get out and vote.
• Lies, Damned Lies, Statistics and Scott Walker (May 20, 2012). Wisconsin is all abuzz about governor Scott Walker's claim that he added 34,000 in the state since he took office, putting him well on the way to the 250,000 he promised for his first term in office. He now leads challenger Tom Barrett by 6 percentage points in polling, so he and his wealthy and/or corporate backers are displaying great confidence. 
• Scott Walker Cornered -- Criminal Defense Fund Reveals Answers (May 19, 2012).  Governor Scott Walker has refused to describe the conditions under which his criminal defense fund has been created. Newly released documents from the Government Accountability Board, obtained by state Senator Jon Erpenbach, show definitively that Walker must be either a target of the investigation and /or he is bankrolling the defense of heinous crimes.
• New strategy should be: Scott Walker is a liar  (May 18, 2012).  Our most candid of recent Wisconsin members of Congress tells it like it is. “The governor has a severe problem with the truth, whether it be the way he’s handling this investigation, whether it be the jobs numbers, the whole routine he had that somehow, this attack on the working people of this state was a budgetary matter, along with the budget. He has a very bad relationship with the truth overall,” said Russ Feingold, speaking at a press conference with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett on May 23.
• Another "Mostly False" Rating:  Gov. Walker says Wisconsin has added 33,200 jobs since he became governor (May 18, 2012).  With less than two weeks to go until the June 5, 2012, recall election pitting Gov. Scott Walker against Democratic challenger Tom Barrett, the top issues can be summed up this way:
• Scottie's Bestest Job In the World, Wisconsin Guv, REALLY! (May 18, 2012).  Governor Scott Walker, Wisconsin's lying liar Deceiver-in-Chief, is at it again. Even though he spends most of his time not working for the citizens he was elected to represent, instead choosing to play national rock-star for faux news and other wing-nut network pundits, he is now proclaiming that being Wisconsin's Fuhrer governor is his most favorite job in the world! Happy Happy Joy Joy!

• Scott Walker’s new “jobs” numbers are an absolute farce  (May 16, 2012).  Republican Gov. Scott Walker, on the magic his administration performed by manufacturing new “jobs” numbers showing job growth in Wisconsin.
• Scott Walker’s Orwellian Jobs Propaganda: It’s False, But How Is It Possibly Legal? (May 16, 2012). Never mind that Scott Walker’s administration made the unprecedented release of unofficial jobs data one day before the final state BLS numbers will be reported – numbers that have consistently shown him to have the worst jobs record of any governor in America.

• Walker lies about figures showing Wisconsin job gains for 2011 are "the final job numbers (May 16, 2012).  A day after Gov. Scott Walker announced statistics indicating Wisconsin had gained jobs in 2011 -- not lost them, as earlier numbers showed -- he touted the new figure in a TV ad.
• Scott Walker Magically Turns Dismal Wisconsin Job Numbers Into A Pre-Election Miracle (May 15, 2012).  With Wisconsin suffering the worst job loss numbers in the nation for the calendar year 2011, Governor Scott Walker promised yesterday that he will reveal newly revised numbers this week that will, effectively, change water into wine on the Wisconsin job front.
• CHART: Scott Walker Has A Long Way To Go To Keep His Job Creation Promise (May 15, 2012) Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) came into office on the promise to create 250,000 jobs in his first term. He then, of course, eschewed that goal in order to focus on busting Wisconsin’s public sector unions.
• Scott Walker Was Dishonest With Police Association About His "Divide and Conquer" Agenda (May 14, 2012).  A new report shows yet another example of Scott Walker's dishonesty with the people he was elected to serve.
• Scott Walker Now Claims He Opposes Right to Work (for less) Laws + BIG Update #4 ( May 12, 2012).  Caught with his political pants down (again!), Scott Walker is once again trying to lie himself out of his own mess.
• Statement on Walker Political Budget Gimmicks (May 11, 2012).  Senator Lena C. Taylor (D-Milwaukee), Ranking Democrat on the Joint Committee on Finance, issued the following statement on the unusual DOA revenue estimates released yesterday.  “Once again, Scott Walker resorts to budget gimmicks and credit card spending in a political report on the budget which violates his own budget principles. In his brownbag movement, Governor Walker campaigned on ‘Don’t Spend More Than You Have’ and yesterday we learned his administration approved more credit-card spending to manipulate the numbers of the budget.
• Divide and Conquer: Scott Walker’s Agenda Revealed (May 11, 2012). The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is out with a breaking video, obtained by a documentary filmmaker in January 2011, which shows Scott Walker’s “bomb” was just the beginning of his “Right-to-Work-For-Less” agenda.   In the damning video, Walker talks about his plan to employ a secret "divide and conquer" strategy against unions, despite publicly stating that he would not push so-called “right-to-work” legislation.
• Scott Walker Is Lying, Again. (May 9, 2012).  Scott Walker's latest ad, like his previous campaign ads, is full of lies. Actually, just one big lie. This one is about his alleged efforts to protect Medicaid. His eyes aren't tracking properly but he assures some (allegedly) typical older Wisconsin voters that he's looking out for them by claiming that he's added more money to Medicaid than ever before—$1.2 billion.
• Another "Mostly False" Rating: Gov. Scott Walker says opponent Tom Barrett campaigning to raise taxes (May 7, 2012).  Reducing property taxes is one accomplishment Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker touts in his bid to remain in office.  In April 2012, the Republican governor announced that during his first year in office, the property tax bill for the typical Wisconsin homeowner had gone down -- the first such decrease in 12 years.
• Walker's Millions and the Right's "Special Interests" (May 4, 2012).  Scott Walker is truly the worst governor money can buy. In 2010, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s Citizens United v. FEC decision, Walker shattered state fundraising records in his campaign to be Wisconsin’s next governor. Now, faced with a recall election, he’s doing it again -- and then some.
• Governor uses "Walker Math" in errant claims on Medicaid (April 30, 2012).
• John Kasich, Chris Christie, Scott Walker failing together and Republicans continue to lie about it! (April 30, 2012).  Please take the time to read these two press releases that occurred last week.
• The Big Lie About Teacher's Salaries (April 26, 2012).  Scott "all I'm asking for is modest benefit contributions" Walker promised that teachers would see no change in their salaries: They would just be capped at cost of living increases. Translation to most Wisconsinites: Pay freeze for teachers that are already getting paid enough, so big whoop-de-doo.
• Hush Money: Is Scott Walker Providing Aid to WisGOP Cronies Charged With Crimes? (April 24, 2012). New questions were raised after a report Monday in WisPolitics.com about a "third party" payee in the criminal defense of top Wisconsin Republican officer and longtime Scott Walker crony Tim Russell. Recently unsealed court documents show that a third party is paying bills for Russell, who was hired or promoted eight times by Walker following his firing by another government agency for improper use of taxpayer dollars.
• Seven Scott Walker Lies: The Budget and Jobs (April 22, 2012). This diary grew out of some research I put together for a comment a few days ago. I’ve expanded things a bit and want to put these links out there because I can’t follow up every comment by a blind follower of his on various message boards myself, and Wisconsin’s mass media on the whole seems pretty determined to avoid doing any actual journalism.
• Walker's lying ads: The governor slimes his recall opponents on jobs and taxes (April 19, 2012).  We knew it was coming. The negative TV ads have begun — and we're not even done with the recall primaries yet. Spending some of the millions he's been collecting from out of state, Gov. Scott Walker decided to take on two of his possible Democratic challengers at once, rather than waiting to see who wins the May 8 election.
• Former Nixon Attorney General John Dean Says Scott Walker (April 16, 2012).  Richard Nixon's former White House Counsel John Dean says in a column today in The Capital Times that Scott Walker, facing a growing criminal corruption probe, is actually "more Nixonian than Nixon."  Dean's key findings relating to Walker's actions as governor:
• Scott Walker and God’s Plan (April 15, 2012).  CBN’s Brody File, a major conservative evangelical listening-post, has been publishing a series of excerpts from interviews with WI Gov. Scott Walker, now into the short rows of a recall campaign. None of them are individually that remarkable, considering the subject and the audience. But altogether they add up to a depressingly familiar picture of a politician who has zero doubt that God is on his side, that God’s people are all praying and fighting for him, and that his opponents can be regarded merely as obstacles put into his path to test his faith.
• Another "Mostly False" Rating:  Gov. Scott Walker says worker discrimination law was "gravy train" for lawyers (April 10, 2012).  When PolitiFact Wisconsin first wrote about an attempt by Republicans to repeal a law that allowed discriminated workers to sue in state court, we found a surprising statistic: The law had been in effect for nearly three years, but no such lawsuits had been filed.
• Holiest Of Cows: Scott Walkers Big, Fat Lie Exposed for All to See (April 9, 2012).  FitzWalkerKochStan Governor Scott Walker has been whining for months now about all that "outside money" flooding in to defeat him during the recall. No matter what the RW venue or traditional media, he's been repeating that lie everywhere virtually every time he makes a statement.  It's a lie.
• Scott Walkers Big, Fat Lie Exposed for All to See + News # 6! As Good as a Friday News Dump (April 9, 2012).  FitzWalkerKochStan Governor Scott Walker has been whining for months now about all that "outside money" flooding in to defeat him during the recall.  No matter what the RW venue or traditional media, he's been repeating that lie everywhere virtually every time he makes a statement.
• Generously Rated "Half False":  Gov. Scott Walker says teen sons "targeted" on Facebook (March 31, 20120).  When Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said his two teen sons have been "targeted" on Facebook, the news was quickly picked up by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and national outlets such as Fox News, Politico, Talking Points Memo, the Daily Beast and the Huffington Post.
• Fraud Investigation Scott Walker (March 30, 2012).  Fraud is considered to involve misrepresentation with an intent to deceive. A fraud investigation tries to determine whether fraud has taken place and tries to detect evidence if fraud has occurred.
• Scott Walker Blames Health Care Reform For Slow Job Growth In Wisconsin (March 27, 2012). Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) pledged to add 250,000 private sector jobs in the state by the end of his four-year term, and as Democrats try to recall him and throw him out of office, a central part of his message to voters has been that he has made progress in that area.
• Walker Admits To Wasting Taxpayer Money With Family Care Caps (March 25, 2012).  In his weekly radio address, Scott Walker not only continued with his shameless lies regarding Family Care, but admitted to using people with disabilities as political props and wasting taxpayer money.
• Gov. Scott Walker Goes on the Air With DisHonest Ad (March 24, 2012).  In a new ad, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker misleads the public about not only his assault on the working families of his state, but about his record on jobs. Walker's record has him in the middle of a massive recall effort that gathered significantly more signatures than needed from Wisconsinites fed up with his right-wing agenda.
• Lies, damn lies and (Wisconsin economic) statistics (March 24, 2012).  “Based on these calculations, I must state that Governor Walker’s claim cannot be supported by data.”
• Greta van Slustern helps Scott Walker lie to the public. Big Ed exposes the Fox River Rat (video, March 22, 2012). Scooter made an appearance on Fox "News" and Greta helped him lie about out-of-state money in the recall election, presenting a sympathetic picture of poor Scotty, victim of Big Union.
• Rated False:  Walker States:  "We gave every public employee in the state the freedom to choose whether or not they want to be in a union." (March 19, 2012).  As he prepares for a recall election, Republican Gov. Scott Walker is defending his record in various media appearances.  In a March 19, 2012 appearance on Fox News, Walker told talk host Greta Van Susteren that big out-of-state unions were behind the protests in Madison last spring -- and are leading the recall effort against him now.
• Walker's Family Care Falsities (March 19, 212).  On Monday, Scott Walker, as is his wont, did his usual showboating when he finally signed the Family Care bill, lifting the caps as he was ordered to do by the federal government three months ago.
• According to a Lying Liar, Walker NOT a Target. Another Lie or Is He Breaking the Law Again?  (March 14, 2012).  Wisconsin has a very very curious situation, soon-to-be facing a recall Governor Scott Walker and his spinmeisters have performed an amazing feat of contortion: During last Friday's "news dump", the weekend of a massive anti-Walker rally on Madison's Capitol Square, Walker announced he set up a legal defense fund to pay for expenses related to an ongoing John Doe investigation, taking advantage of provisions in Wisconsin law that allows such a move for officeholders if they're charged or under investigation for election or campaign violations.  
• Here we go again; the News Media Gives Walker's Failures a Pass…problems bigger than one person. (March 12, 2012).  This is just what happened when the Journal Sentinel (JS) gave Walker a pass after he essentially bankrupted Milwaukee County. Funny how the Democrats can't seem to catch the same breaks.
• The Walker budget's smoke and mirrors (March 12, 2012).  It's so nice when someone lays this out clearly enough so that even those of us who have to depend on common sense can understand it.  Walker's lying -- well, that or he's incompetent. You decide.
• Scott Walker’s Real Record – Promises Broken (March 6, 2012). Scott Walker lied about what he said he was going to do as governor.  That's why, instead of paying to challenge recall signatures, Walker is spending his millions of dollars in sleazy campaign contributions from bizarre out-of-state special interests on a costly media blitz in a shallow attempt to distract from his record of failure and dishonesty.
• Distortions in new Walker ad, part 2: the budget and taxes (March 5, 2012). In my previous post on Gov. Scott Walker's newest ad asking you to help him "oppose" the recall, I took a look at job claims the Republican executive made. Namely, I took issue with Walker pretending that he was responsible for any job gains made in 2011 (because those gains occurred under a different governor's budget) and casting blame on the previous administration for losing 150,000 jobs in the state when it was due more to a global economic recession.
• Scott Walker lies about negotiating on collective bargaining  (video, March 5, 2012)
• The Smoking Gun: Gov. Scott Walker’s HUGE Lie (video, March 4, 2012).  I had to read this article from David Cay Johnston at Tax.com a couple of times to make sure I got my head around it and could write about it clearly. Hopefully I can. Over and over we’ve heard the meme that “union worker’s need to pay more,” or “they need to pay their fair share,” of their pensions and their healthcare, which sets out the idea that, somehow, workers are getting a free ride at the expense of tax payers.
• Scott Walker Lies Exposed!  (Mar 4, 2012).  This video proves what we all knew already; that Scott Walker is a bold faced liar.
• Scott Walker lies 3 out of every 4 times he opens his mouth  (Mar 2, 2012 ).  I just received an e-mail from my representative that was very proud that one of Scott Walker's statements was judged "true" by PolitiFact.  So I went on line to check it out...
• Walker Lies with a Straight Face (Feb 27, 2012).  This apparently will be Gov. Scott Walker's campaign strategy for his recall election and probably beyond.  Just tell lies, and go on.

Scott Walker consistently mock the lack of progress on his promise to spur 250,000 new jobs in four years. In response, Walker emphasizes the falling unemployment rate and what he says is new optimism among business owners -- "job creators" in the current GOP parlance.
• Walker’s 'pants on fire' over venture capital (Feb 24, 2012).  Since they’re making fools of themselves, perhaps Gov. Scott Walker and Milwaukee talk radio jock Charlie Sykes ought to stop listening to each other.

• Pants on Fire!  A 10-year state program that created 202 jobs at a cost of $247,000 per job was approved by former Gov. Jim Doyle.  (Feb 12, 2012).  Gov. Scott Walker and lawmakers of both parties say the state should be doing more, with much debate centered on proposals to boost companies poised for rapid growth.

Scott Walker, a public opinion survey released Nov. 15, 2011 contained some troubling results for the first-term Republican.
