Wisconsin's media has been lying to you -- singing a chorus of disinformation to prop up Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. With the help of Fox News; Lee Enterprises, Journal Communications, Gannett, and Clear Channel have manufactured a "rock star" based on misinformation and disinformation. Did you believe he was going to be a "moderate"?
Well think about it no more -- here's more proof that the reports Wisconsin's media echo-chamber carried over the holidays were not true -- classic propaganda. Not only does Scott Walker want to give massive tax cuts to the better-off, excluding the working poor, but he's coming for unemployment insurance now too.
This is not "bipartisan"; it is controversial, and it directly harms the most vulnerable among us -- people looking for work or underemployed between more permanent working situations. And Walker wants to do this even though providing a modest income to unemployed and underemployed is an important economic boost to the state's economy.
This is classic "divide and conquer" and as controversial as it gets if you or someone you know has been laid off due to the bad economic environment that Scott Walker created. Don't expect the mainstream media to tell the story though -- Lee Enterprises/Journal Communications/Gannett/Clear Channel have been complicit with covering for Scott Walker's massive job failure.
Scott Walker has no problems giving out massive amounts of corporate welfare even when it doesn't create jobs. Now he's going to stick it to workers and attack a program that does stimulate the economy.
Wisconsin's media echo-chamber has misrepresented Scott Walker's State of the State last night, trying to make it sound like a big unified love fest, which it was anything but. Quietly released before last night's address, though Walker made vague references during the speech, was Wisconsin Regulatory Review Report (53 page .pdf). It is full of "divide and conquer".
It is full of "testimony" from his corporate backers and, like everything else Walker does, does not hide its contempt for the "little folks" nor contain any reference to perspectives and views outside of his donor base. The report confirms the economic assaults that workers in Wisconsin will face during the rest of his term -- it mirrors the promises Walker made to out-of-state multinational corporate billionaires late last year at the Ronald Reagan Memorial Library -- statements that Scott Walker did not have the courage to tell the citizens of Wisconsin.
Also like every other piece of Walker propaganda, this report represents itself as being an inclusive analysis of diverse views that represent the majority of Badger State Residents. On inspection, it is not hard to see Walker's deception -- perhaps this is why Wisconsin's media echo-chamber largely avoids talking about it.
Walker is going to make it harder to collect unemployment insurance -- for an outline of the upcoming attacks, see pages 28-29. This will hurt Wisconsin's economy because reports are that each $1 spent on unemployment creates $1.64 in value in our economy -- this is because money that helps poor people pay their bills is all spent in the economy. Outside of food stamps, nothing else provides more of an economic boost.
Millions of dollars given to corporations just goes out of state -- in fact -- Walkers' Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation cannot even account for almost $20 million of these dollars in just the past year. Most of this money was sucked OUT of Wisconsin's economy and will never be repaid. And like most of Scott Walker's "divide and conquer", Wisconsin's media echo-chamber is complicit.
Walker is merely hired help -- he promised his largest in-state donor he would "divide and conquer", starting with public unions, moving towards making Wisconsin a "red" right-to-work state. Scott Walker needs divisiveness to distract from culpability into the crimes behind his ascent to power -- criminality for which people are going to jail and for which only he benefited from. And again -- the media is shielding Scott Walker from public scrutiny over this criminality.
Scott Walker needs to keep his out-of-state billionaire masters happy -- they underwrite his criminal defense fund. Scott Walker is picking up his economic terrorism at a time when his failed policies have created masses of vulnerable workers.
Don't believe anything you read or hear from Lee Enterprises, Journal Communications, Gannett, and Clear Channel -- they do not exist to inform -- they exist to enable Scott Walker's economic terrorism.
Walker is going after the unemployed and the underemployed next to fund more tax-breaks and give-aways to out-of-state business interests.
